Had my first 2 Swedish lessons this week and so far it's been a lot of fun!
Our teacher is this nice old Swedish lady, she has a charming ring to her voice and
we just started doing a lot of smalltalk and basics, which is much better than forcing people into too much grammar right from the beginning.

Other than that, I spent some time in the library and I finally found an affordable hair-cutter in town.
I paid 16€ for a haircut but didn't really get what I told him to do... his English wasn't the best and I guess he's that cheap for a reason.
I even found a German baker today, he has a stand at the market in town every Wednesday and Saturday, bought some German plum cake which turned out to be a welcome change from all the Swedish cinnamon rolls and princess cakes. :)

So, it's Wednesday already and the upcoming weekend's gonna be packed with daytrips and parties.
We'll be going to the Moose-park on Friday and take a drive to the east coast on Saturday with a bunch of people, so expect to see even more pictures.

Gonna take a shower now, had a run around one of the bigger lakes here and was planning to go to the mancave afterward but it's packed with cavemen so I'll just go there tomorrow afternoon.

Added some more pictures of our canoe-trip yesterday,
I'll sort them and add captions sooner or later.

Just came back from my first basketball training here, it's not too bad but I guess
I have some catching up to do. :)

After our trip yesterday we actually went out to town for the first time,
to a place called Café DeLuxe. Pretty fancy place,
damn good music, lots of really crazy Swedish people and some darn expensive alcohol (a pint of beer was like 4,80€).

But anyway, I had a fun time there... with McDonalds only being like 2 minutes away it's the
perfect place to spend your evening in the town of Växjö.

Gonna take a shower now, it's been a long weekend and I didn't have that much sleep.

Weekend, here I come !!

Hey people!

Yes, had a busy week enjoying the Swedish sun, it's still pretty good weather over here.
Managed to shoot some more pictures of campus and even better,
I found some party pictures from last Saturdays after-party.



So, besides from hanging out at the lake with the others and attending some classes now and then, I helped one of my German co-students
moving out of his apartment into a student-housing located off-campus.

Well, that place turned out to be a really shabby sinkhole so luckily he
managed to find another apartment located on campus the day after.

Between driving to and fro with his belongings stashed in the trunk I also
managed going to town this week.
It's not too bad actually, they have a considerable number of clothes shops, there's an Apple Store, lot's of cafés and everything else you'd expect from a town this size.

I still need to a find a cheap enough barber though, the prices for a normal haircut here in Sweden are outrageous!! There's a barber located on campus where a student hast to pay around 30€ to get his hair cropped, I pay less than half of this at home...

So, what's next?

Tonight we're gonna have some dinner at a friend and afterward it's Stallarnas, one of the student clubs on campus.
It's a really fancy pub actually, used to be a horse stable back in the days and now it's this
two story pub/club with disco music on the first floor and a rock-band every Friday upstairs.

Tomorrow we'll be going on a canoe tour with all the other Germans, about 14 people in total.
I'm really excited, think it's gonna be a lot of fun!

I'm also planning to do a one day trip to Kalmar which is located at the eastcoast next week,
heard it's quite a beautiful place to go to.

Furthermore, I met some Spanish guy who told me that Raised Fist will be playing at a venue in Malmö some time in October.
Those guys are Swedish hardcore at it's best, I'll definitely be there!

I have a lot more to tell but time is short and we have still have some cooking to do.
